They were also given their choice of one of the four Handbooks published by the Association, and all selecting the Salesman's Handbook were enrolled as members of the Commercial Section. The increase in the membership of the Section, therefore, did not mean a corresponding increase in Association membership, while the 851 new Commercial Section members this year are all new members of the Association. In addition to securing new members for the Commercial Section, your Committee has added to the membership of the Accounting and Technical Sections, as the State captains have secured applications from many who have enrolled in these Sections. Several plans considered by your Chairman were abandoned as it was felt that they would merely duplicate the work of the Membership Committee of the main body, which carries on its campaigns to increase the membership of all sections impartially. In connection with the work of this main national committee, your Commercial Committee will recommend to the National Executive Committee that the new membership committee consist of a chairman with a vice-chairman appointed from each Section, thus making it unnecessary for the different Sections to appoint their own membership committees. Your Committee desires to express its thanks and appreciation to those who have so enthusiastically co-operated with it, especially the State captains, who, realizing the many benefits to be derived from membership, have been only too glad to interest. lets in the work of the Association and the Commercial Secnr, the endorsing President Lloyd's slogan THE MORE MEMBÈKS THE MORE VALUE TO EACH MEMBER Respectfully submitted, HN MCCONNELL, Chairman ET HUGHES TF KELLY RW LINDLEY AC MCMICKEN GA MONTGOMERY VC NEWMAN FT SPUG WP SOUTHARTI VE STONE SV WALTON RR YOUNG |
