(e) the word "ratepayer" means any person 1esident within the village entitled to vote at a municipal election.

3. Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Chapter is repealed and the following substituted therefor:

(1) When the inhabitants of any village in the province desire to avail themselves of any of the powers set forth in this Chapter, they shall present a requisition signed by at least fifty ratepayers of said village to the sheriff for the county of which such village forms part, requesting him to hold a poll of the ratepayers of said village to determine whether or not a majority of the inhabitants thereof are in favor of this Chapter being declared to apply to such village.

4. Sub-section (2) of Section 4 of said Chapter 88 is amended by striking out the word "petition" in the first line thereof and substituting therefor the word "requisition.'

5. Section 6 of said Chapter 88 is amended by striking out the word "petition" in the seventh line and substituting therefor the word “requisition.'

6. Section 13 of said Chapter 88 is amended by adding thereto the following sub-section :

Description of (2) The sheriff shall, if so required by the Governor-in-Council, prepare or have prepared a proper description of the boundaries of such village with a plan thereof, and shall forward a certified copy of such description and plan of the same to the Governorin-Council.

7. Section 24 of said Chapter 88 is repealed and the following substituted therefor:

24. (1) The Commissioners appointed by the Governor-in-Council shall retire from office on the first Tuesday of the February following their appointment.

(2) The Commissioner receiving the smallest number of votes at the first election after the issuance of

the proclamation declaring this Act to apply to such village shall retire from office on the first Tuesday of the February following such election. In the event of all or any of the Commissioners having received the same number of votes, or in the event of the Commissioners having been duly elected without a poll having been taken, the chairman shall, before the end of the December next succeeding the election in open council, draw lots to determine the order in which such commissioners shall retire.

(3) Upon the first Tuesday of the following February the commissioner receiving the next smallest number of votes shall retire from office and upon the first Tuesday of February in each following year the senior commissioner shall retire.

(4) The commissioners, whether appointed or elected, shall hold office until their successors are sworn into office."

8. Sub-section (2) of Section 31 of said Chapter is s. 31 amended. amended by striking out the word "ratepayers" in

the first line and substituting therefor the word "electors."

9. Sub-section (4) of Section 35 of the said Chapter s. 35(4) reis repealed.

10. Section 61 of said Chapter 88 is amended by s. 61 amended. adding thereto the following clause:

CHAPTER 58.

An Act to Amend Chapter 110, The Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Street Tree Act."

(Passed the 23rd day of April, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

R. S., c. 110, 1. Section 8 of Chapteri110 of the Revised Statutes, s. 8 amended. 1923, "The Street Tree Act," is amended by striking out in the fifth line thereof the words "warden of said municipality" and substituting therefor the words Chairman of the Provincial Highway Board."

CHAPTER 59.

An Act to Amend Chapter 111, Revised Statutes, 1923, "Of the Supply of Cattle Feed and Seed Grain to Polling Districts."

(Passed the 23rd day of April, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council and Assembly, as follows:-

R. S., c. 111, 1. Section 3 of the said Chapter 111 of The Revised s. 3 amended. Statutes, 1923, is hereby amended by striking out the word "two" in the fourth line thereof and substituting therefor the word "four."

CHAPTER 60.

An Act to Amend Chapter 115, Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Dental Act."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925.

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. Section 11 of Chapter 115, Revised Statutes, R. S.. c. 115, Nova Scotia, 1923, entitled "The Dental Act," is hereby amended by striking out the words "or matriculation" in the second line of said section and substituting therefor the words "and professional."

2. Section 18 of said Chapter 115, Revised Statu- s. 18 substi tes, Nova Scotia, 1923, is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor:

3. Section 19 of said Chapter 115, Revised Statutes s. 19 amended. Nova Scotia, 1923, is hereby amended by inserting between the words "of" and "all" in the twelfth line of said section the words "a registration fee of $20.00 and".

4. Section 26 of said Chapter 115, Revised Statu- S. 26 substituttes, Nova Scotia, 1923, is hereby repealed and the following section substituted therefor:

26. Any practitioner who has—

(a) after due inquiry been adjudged by the Board to have been guilty of infamous conduct in any professional respect; or

(b) made any material misrepresentation to the Board or the registrar in order to procure registration; or

(c) procured a certificate of registration to practise dentistry in Nova Scotia through a certificate of qualification of the Dominion Dental Council of Canada, if the certificate granted by the Dominion Dental Council of Canada is cancelled for any cause whatsoever

shall forfeit his right to registration; and his name, if registered, shall by direction of the Board be erased from the register, and his name shall be published in the dental register of the next following year as having been so erased.

5. This Act shall come into force on, from and after a date to be proclaimed by the Governor-inCouncil.

CHAPTER 61.

An Act to Amend Chapter 120, The Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Nova Scotia Engineering

Profession Act."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

R. S., c. 120, 1. Clause (c) of Section 2 of Chapter 120 of The . 2 amended. Revised Statutes, 1923 is amended by striking out in

said Clause (c) "twenty-five thousand dollars" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "five thousand dollars." Said Clause (c) of said Section 2 is further amended by adding thereto the following words:

"Provided, however, that nothing in this Chapter shall be deemed to prevent or make illegal the super
