all the rights and privileges of a male poll tax payer, including the right of being elected a trustee.

Auditors, ap 30. (1) The ratepayers and wives of ratepayers present at each annual meeting shall appoint two competent persons to act as auditors for the ensuing year. The auditors shall, at least three days before the next annual meeting, receive from the trustees or secretary all the accounts, vouchers, agreements and other documents connected with the year's business, and shall examine into and decide upon the legality and correctness thereof, and report thereon in writing to such ensuing annual meeting, giving a detailed statement of the receipts and expenditures for the year. If the auditors or either of them, object to the legality or correctness of the trustees' accounts, the matters in dispute may be decided by the annual meeting.

(2) If the annual meeting fails to appoint auditors for the ensuing year, the next ensuing annual meeting shall appoint auditors to examine the accounts of the preceding year, and report thereon either before the close of the annual meeting or at an adjourned meeting held for that purpose.

CHAPTER 36.

An Act to Amend Chapter 60, The Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Education Act.'

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

5, (1) amended. 1. Sub-section (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 60 of the Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Education Act," is amended by adding thereto the following clause:

(z.z.z.) to pay annually out of the Provincial Treasury to the Board of Directors of any Federated Rural High School Department organized under the

provisions of The Education Act towards the support of such Department a sum not exceeding five cents for each day's attendance of each enrolled high school pupil attending such Federated Rural High School; provided that no such payment shall be made unless the days' attendance made by the enrolled high school pupils exceeds three thousand days' attendance.

CHAPTER 37.

An Act to Amend Chapter 60, Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Education Act."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. Sections 109 and 110 of Chapter 60, Revised R. S., c. 60, Statutes, 1923, "The Education Act" are repealed and substituted. the following sections substituted therefor.:

CHAPTER 38.

An Act to mend Chapter 61, Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Technical Education Act."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and As'sembly, as follows:

R. S., c. 61, s. 9 1. Section 9 of said Chapter 61, Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Technical Education Act," is repealed and the following substituted therefor:

9. The Director of Technical Education shall be the president of the said institution.

2. Said Chapter 61 is further amended by striking out the word "principal" wherever the same occurs in Sections 10 and 12 thereof and substituting therefor the word "president.'

An Act to Amend Chapter 62, The Revised Statutes, 1923, "Of the Education of the Blind."

(Passed the 23rd day of April, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

An Act to Amend Chapter 64, Revised Statutes, 1923, "The Agriculture Act."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D. 1925.)

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. Section 28 of Chapter 64, The Revised Statutes R. S., c. 64, of Nova Scotia, 1923, is amended by adding thereto the following sub-section:

(9) (a) (a) The Governor-in-Council may on the Aid to local petition of a majority of the councillors of the council of any such municipality and any town or towns situated in such municipality and in lieu of making a grant in aid of a county or district exhibition for such municipality, make an annual grant in aid of such local fairs held in such municipality as may be approved of for that purpose by the Superintendent of Exhibitions. Where a town or towns is or are situated in such municipality such majority shall be a majority of the combined councils of the municipality and town or towns,

(b) the amount of the annual grant to be paid under this sub-section to each local fair shall, where five local fairs are held in any municipality, be one hundred dollars; where less than five local fairs are held in any municipality the amount of such annual grant to each fair shall be one hundred dollars, together with an amount equal to fifty per centum of the prize money in excess of one hundred dollars actually paid out by each of such local fairs as shown by the sworn statement of the treasurer of each of such local fairs;

(c) the total number of local fairs in any municipality to receive a grant under this subsection shall not exceed five nor shall the total amount granted in aid of the several local fairs in any municipality exceed five hundred dollars.

CHAPTER 42.

An Act to Amend Chapter 70, Revised Statutes, 1923, entitled, "Of the Incorporation of Farmers' Fruit, Produce and Warehouse Associations."

(Passed the 7th day of May, A. D., 1925).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. Section 32 of Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1923, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following sub-section :

(7) The directors shall have the power to cancel the stock of any shareholding company which refuses or neglects after sixty days' notice to pay any calls regularly payable upon the share or shares held by such company, and any calls previously paid shall upon such cancellation be forfeited to the central company.
