[Relative to swamp and overflowed lands.]

To the Honorable, the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the United States in Congress now assembled:

WHEREAS, A bill has been introduced and is now pend- Preamble. ing in the senate of the United States extending the provisions of the act of congress of September 28, 1850, and the 2d of March, 1855, relative to swamp and overflowed lands in Nebraska, and other new states;

AND WHEREAS, It is but simple justice that the new states organized since the passage of said acts and amendments should enjoy the same rights under laws, while assuming the same obligations of their older sisters,

THEREFORE, your memorialists, the legislature of the congress urged state of Nebraska, would most respectfully urge upon to pass bill. your honorable body the passage of said bill, Senate file
