CHAPTER 130.

Incorporation.

Property vested.

May acquire

estate.

An Act to Incorporate Sylvan Hall Company, North
Lochaber, Antigonish County.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D. 1922.)

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council and Assembly, as follows:

1. Alexander R. Cameron, Francis G. McDonald and William H. Gillis, the trustees of Sylvan Hall Company, North Lochaber, and all other persons beneficially interested in said hall at the time of the passing of this Act, are constituted a body corporate under the name of "Sylvan Hall Company, North Lochaber," hereinafter called the Company.

2. All real and personal property whatever, which at the time of the passing of this Act was vested in or held by the persons named in the first section of this Act as trustees as aforesaid, is hereby vested in the said Company.

3. The Company shall have the right to acquire, and hold real hold and enjoy in fee simple or under lease, real estate and personal property to the extent or value of ten thousand dollars and to sell, mortgage or otherwise dispose of the same.

4. The annual meeting of the Company shall be held within one year from the date of the passing of this Act, notice of such meeting to be given to the members of the corporation at least seven days before the day of meeting by the said trustees.

5. The trustees above named shall hold office as such and shall also be provisional directors of the Company until the first annual meeting of the Company. At such first annual meeting, the trustees first above named shall retire from the office of directors and trustees and five directors and trustees shall be appointed in their place, such latter to hold office until successors are appointed.

6. The Company may sue and be sued and may May sue and prosecute and defend suits in any and all matters touching the property of the Company.

7. No trustee or shareholder of the Hall Company shall be liable for the debts of the Company unless he shall have made himself personally responsible therefor.

8. 9. The Company may from time to time make by-By-laws, rules laws, rules and regulations for the managing and taking care of the said hall and grounds and all matters appertaining to the proper conduct of the business affairs of said Company, such by-laws not to be inconsistent with this Act nor with the general laws of the Province, and such by-laws, rules and regulations, when approved by the Governor-in-Council, shall have the force and effect of law.

CHAPTER 131.

Incorporation.

Association.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D. 1922).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. William Rychlo, S. Furlett, F. Bolan, William Prodywus, D. Madinsky, S. Fedun and S. Kovalsky, and all such other male persons, over 21 years of age, as are now or may hereafter become members of the Association hereby incorporated, are hereby constituted a body corporate under the name of "The Ukranian Labor Temple Association," and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal.

2. (1) The objects of the Association shall be to promote and inculcate a spirit of fraternalism among its members.

(2) To amalgamate or affiliate with any other Society existing at the date hereof, or which may be incorporated or formed in the future, the aims and purposes of which shall be similar to the aims and purposes of the Association.

3. To promote the interests and advance the cause of labor, and generally to assist workmen in their relations with their employers.

4. To provide a fund, by entrance fees, contributions, gifts, donations, assessments, rents, interests on capital, legacies or bequests or in any other way to be used,

(a) for the assistance of members of the Association in case of accident or illness and for the relief of their widows and orphans in case of the death of such members;

(b) for the assistance of members of the Association or any other person or persons by way of loans of money or in any other way, whether such

loans of money shall be secured collaterally or
not;

(c) to aid in promoting the education of members of the Association and their families;

(d) to financially assist immigrants locating in Canada, and to furnish such immigrants with information about Canada, and to care for such immigrants and their families until located and established.

9. A copy of the by-laws of the Association and be filed with any amendments to the same, certified by the Chairman and Secretary under the seal of the Association, shall be filed from time to time in the office of the Provincial Secretary.

CHAPTER 132.

An Act to Incorporate the Trustees of the Union
Church (Methodist-Presbyterian), Woodville,
Kings County.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D. 1922.)

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

Incorporation. 1. Clifford A. Rand, Grant Foote, Percy A. Killam, Hugh G. Porter, Kenneth D. Parker, C. Percy Foote, Harold E. Killam, James M. Lacey and William B. Burgess and their successors in office shall be and they are hereby created a body corporate under and by the name of "Trustees of the Union Church (MethodistPresbyterian), Woodville, Kings County."

Property vested.

2. All the property which has been conveyed to the above-named persons in trust by William B. Burgess and wife, and also the Church building on the said property and all fixtures, equipment, furniture and other personal property on or about appertaining to the said Church building and premises shall be and the same is hereby absolutely vested in the said "Trustees of Union Church (Methodist-Presbyterian), Woodville, Kings County."
