An Act Authorizing the Town of Truro to Sell School
Property.

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The Town of Truro is hereby authorized and empowered to sell the building situate on Alice Street, in the Town of Truro, known as the Old Alice Street School House, for the best price to be obtained for the same.

2. The money obtained from the said sale shall be paid to the Treasurer of the said Town of Truro and shall be by him paid out for such purposes as may be authorized by resolution of the Council of said Town of Truro.

CHAPTER 85.

An Act to Enable the Town of Truro to Grant Money to a Hospital.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D. 1922.)

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

CHAPTER 86.

An Act Respecting Victoria Park, Truro.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D. 1922.)

WHEREAS, in the year 1893, the trustees of Victoria Park, Truro, formed a committee of themselves, known as "The Howe Memorial Committee," having for its object the erection of a memorial in Victoria Park, Truro, to the Honourable Joseph Howe;

And Whereas, before a sufficient sum for the purpose required had been obtained, the Province of Nova Scotia erected in Halifax a memorial to the Honourable Joseph Howe, and thereupon the said Howe Memorial Committee offered to return to the donors the amount of their subscriptions, but few of said donors took advantage of said offer;

And Whereas, the sum collected then in the hands of said committee amounted to $1400.00 which, with interest, now amounts to the sum of $3063.00, which amount is not sufficient for the purpose of erecting such memorial;

And Whereas, it is desirable that such funds now on hand should be expended for the extension and development of said Victoria Park, Truro;

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. That all money and securities now or formerly ed in Trustees. held or standing in the name of the "Howe Memorial Committee" be now vested in the trustees of Victoria Park, Truro.

CHAPTER 87.

An Act to Authorize the Town of Windsor to Borrow
Money to Redeem Debentures Maturing on the
First Day of October, 1922.

(Passed the 18th day of April, A. D., 1922).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The Town of Windsor is authorized to borrow Authority to or raise by way of loan, on the credit of the Town, the $35,000. sum of thirty-five thousand dollars for the purpose of redeeming debentures issued on the first day of October, 1897 and maturing on the first day of October, 1922, for the purpose of erecting a school house.

Where any money is borrowed or raised by the Sinking funds. issue and sale of debentures of the Town under this Act and "Municipal Debentures Act, 1914," as amended, the Council of the Town shall provide for a sinking fund with respect to such debentures; provided that the amount to be paid annually into the sinking fund shall not be less than two and one-half per centum per annum of the aggregate amount of such debentures, and shall not be more than the Council deems sufficient to provide for the payment of the debentures when the same are payable, and the first payment into such sinking fund shall be made within one year from the date of the debentures.

CHAPTER 88.

An Act to Enable the Town of Wolfville to Borrow
Money for Electric Plant Purposes.

(Passed the 29th day of April, A. D., 1922).

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. The Town of Wolfville is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow, on the credit of the Town, from time to time, as the Town Council shall by resolution determine, a sum or sums of money, not to exceed, in the aggregate, the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the purposes of the Wolfville Electric Commission in connection with the Town of Wolfville's electric plant.

For the purpose of effecting loans under the preceding section, the Town Council of the Town of Wolfville is empowered to make and issue, subject to the Municipal Debentures Act, and amendments thereto, debentures bearing interest at a rate not to exceed six per cent. per annum, and payable at such time or times, not exceeding thirty years from the issue thereof, and at such place or places, as the Council shall determine.

3. Such debentures shall be for the sum, each, of one hundred dollars, of lawful money of Canada, or some multiple thereof, and shall be issued as the Council determines, and the same, when issued, shall form a lien upon and be a charge against all the taxable property in the Town and against all the revenues of the Town.

4. The moneys borrowed under the foregoing sections of this Act shall be paid into the hands of the town clerk and treasurer and shall be paid out by him upon authority of the Town Council and for the purposes only mentioned in Section 1 of this Act.

5. The Town Council shall annually add to the amount to be assessed or levied upon property and income, for general Town purposes, a sum sufficient to
