FAYETTEVILLE, MAY 28, 1851.

This being the day and place for the meeting of the Thirty-fifth Annual Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of North Carolina, the Bishop, with the attending Clergy and Laity, assembled in St. John's Church, for the purpose of organizing the Convention.

Prayers were said by the Bishop.

The Secretary of the last year called the List of the Clergy, and the following were present and took their seats:

On motion, the Convention proceeded to elect a Secretary for the ensuing year. Edward Lee Winslow was unanimously elected. The Convention was declared duly organised.

On motion, the Convention proceeded, in pursuance of the 5th Article of the Constitution, to appoint a President. The Rev. R. S. Mason, D. D., was unanimously appointed.

On motion, the Convention adjourned to Thursday, 9 o'clock A. M.

Morning Prayer was said by the Rev. Joseph Blount Cheshire, Rev. John H. Parker reading the Lessons, the Right Rev. Bishop reading the Ante-Communion Service. The Convention Sermon was preached by the Rev. Edwin Geer, from the 9th chapter of Acts, latter clause of the 15th verse.

At Night, Evening Prayer was said by the Rev. E. M. Forbes, and a Sermon preached by the Rev. Jos. Blount Cheshire, from the 3d chapter of Hebrews, 7th and 8th verses.

THURSDAY, MAY 29.

The Convention met pursuant to adjournment.

Prayers were said by the Bishop.

The Rev. Messrs. J. R. Lee, J. J. Ridley, C. F. McRae, and Aldert Smedes, appeared and took their seats.

The Minutes of yesterday were read and approved.
