is unto death," and the wrath is utter despair. Let us now then attend to the warning voice, "touch not the unclean thing"-come out of Babylon, Egypt, and Sodom, and taste not the grapes of gall, the wine of confusion, spiritual fornication, nor the strong drink of astonishment at the Beast.

It is natural for shortsighted mortals to think it impossible for characters morally correct, to embrace such a delusion as "the Man of sin," because this title announces the acme of iniquity which brought swift destruction upon ancient Sodom; and it is perfectly accordant with the influence of that powerful stimulus self esteem, to exclaim with Hazael "is thy servant a dog" that he should aid the son of perdition, in making war against the humble followers of the Lamb? Religious persons who have only known the Blessed JESUS at Jordan, when the heavens opened, and the Spirit (like a dove) descended upon Him, are not prepared for a baptism of fire; and those who weep at His cross, but do not retire in season to prepare sweet spices and ointments, for the embalming of His body, before the setting in of the Sabbath, are not likely to be looking for the Master at the dawn of His millennial Day. I say, if we have no special reverence for the sacred person that was taken and slain for us; but only the blood which He shed to make atonement for our sins, we are as likely to be overcome with fear as Peter was; and join the rabble to blaspheme and deny the Lord. Indeed nothing short of that state of entire dedication to "the true sayings of GOD," and "testimony of JESUS," which is the "single eye," filling the body with light, will insure to us the Divine Spirit to help our infirmities, in the trying day of trouble, which is ready to open, by_the revelation of the personal Beast from the pit. This entire dedication of the understanding to the "true

sayings of God," is the praise of the angel of the church in Philadelphia; ("hast kept my word, and not denied my name") and the grace by which he was, and is, and shall be enabled to make this dedication, is coupled by those two marked conditions, which seem to constitute a right to the kingdom of heaven, poverty of spirit, and endurance of persecution for righteousness' sake. "The poor in spirit” that are pronounced by our Lord blessed, say not "I will never deny thee;" but trembling cry, "Lord I believe, help thou mine unbelief"-"Save Lord, or I perish" "Cleanse Thou me from secret faults, keep back thy servant also, from presumptuous sins: let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. Living in the spirit of this surrender to, and trust in, the loving kindness, and all sufficient mercy of God, which their case requires, "the poor in spirit" mourn for their own iniquity, like doves of the ⚫ valleys, and lament for the failure of truth in the earth; hence they seek to be clean from all filthiness of flesh and of spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of GOD, that they may glorify the name by which they are called, bearing fruit of Salvation from their sins; and become "the pure in heart, that shall see GOD."

May this be your happy case, my red brethren, for whose sakes, I believe the Lord has employed my feeble hand, to write Millennial Tidings. By them your attention is called to survey intently, "that which is noted in the scripture of truth," even "The Glory of GoD in the land of the living," which is the reign of righteousness by JESUS Christ, our Lord, in whom all the promises of GoD

are yea, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God the
Father; and by whom Judgment shall be made
manifest at his second appearing and Glory. I ask
you to refer my testimony to the Word of GOD, and
not to man. I beg of you to water my feeble la-
bours for you with tears of penitence, and prayers
for your redemption from all sin, looking beyond
time, and all its evils, to the everlasting age of the
Blessed One who is the Father of Israel, and
Ephraim is His first born. Listen to the voice of
warning by His Word, and "take heed that no man
deceive you."-Doubtless in the approaching "stirs
and tumults" which prepare for a battle, which is
called "the battle of the great day of God Al-
mighty," false prophets, and false Messiahs will
intrude upon the Indians as well as the Jews.

Re-

member the words of Him who spake as never man
spake, concerning false prophets (see Matt. 7. 15–
20.) and obey His command, "BEWARE"-See
Matt. 24. 24-26.

There is one thing particularly necessary for you,
my red brethren, at the present doubtful time, more
than for any other people that I know, and that is
to "love your enemies”—the very exact reverse of
the Indian warlike character. Your wrongs (by
these nations) are aggravated and multiplied, beyond
any precedent in the history of the Gospel Age. Of
you, therefore, it is required to take the lead in for-
giveness of the spoilers of your property, and your
peace, leaving all your cause in the hand of Him,
who is the Father of (otherwise fatherless) Israel, as
well as the widow's (Jerusalem) Judge, who hath
said, "Vengeance is mine-I will repay saith the
Lord."

I am now about to close my remarks on the per-
sonal anti Christ; and thus conclude my last Num-
ber of Millennial Tidings. This is the day of small

pt.

things; and having my probation in such a time, if I reap an ephah of barley, it will last me through the time of my mother's widowhood; and as I am trying to obey the great man in keeping fast by His maidens (the holy prophecies) avoiding the field of mysticism, where anti christian principles spring up like hemlock, I am conscious of possessing a hope that my labours shall not be in vain in the Lord, who knoweth that under the shadow of His wings I am come to trust. If He please, I shall return to the land of Israel, with my barley as a present to the widow of Elimelech ("My God is King") and pray for the Advent of David, the rightful proprietor of the holy Oil of Joy, the Robes of Praise and the Glory of a Crown which is The First, and the Last. Hallelujah! "Come Lord JESUS, come quickly, even so, Amen.
