The number of positions open was 7,931. In September the corresponding figures were 1,204 and 4,551, respectively. The list of branch employment offices reported varies from month to month; only those which report having received applications or assisted in securing employment are included in the list reported for the month. The Division of Information reports some difficulty in finding men to fill the reported vacant positions.
