To declare and amend the Law for auditing and inrolling the
Accounts of the Land Revenue of the Crown.

HEREAS an Act was passed in the second year of the Preamble: reign of his late Majesty, intituled, An Act for uniting 2 & 3 Will. 4,

the Office of Surveyor-General of His Majesty's Works and Public Buildings with the Office of the Commissioners of His Majesty's Woods and Forests and Land Revenues, and for other Purposes relating to the Land Revenues:"

And whereas doubts have arisen as to the powers vested in the Commissioners for examining and auditing the Public Accounts of the Kingdom, in examining and auditing the Accounts referred to them 10 under the said Act;

BE it Declared and Enacted, by The QUEEN's most Excellent MAJESTY, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commous, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, THAT the said Commissioners for auditing the Public Accounts of the Kingdom, in examining, trying and auditing the Accounts referred to them by the said Act, shall be deemed to have had, from the time of the passing of the said Act, and shall have all the powers which are vested in them under an Act of the twenty-fifth year of the reign of King GEORGE the Third, 25 Geo. 3, 20 intituled, "An Act for better examining and auditing the Public Accounts of this Kingdom," and under any other Act now in force, or any law, usage, custom or otherwise howsoever.

pose of facilitating and expediting the passing of Public Accounts in
Great Britain, and to render perpetual and amend an Act passed
in the fifty-fourth year of his late Majesty, for the effectual Examina-
tion of the Accounts of certain Colonial Revenues," certain provisions
are made for the inrolment of every Account in the Office of Her
Majesty's Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer, after the same
shall have been declared before the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and
signed in manner therein mentioned: AND whereas by the first-recited
Act, the Lord High Treasurer or the Commissioners of Her Majesty's
Treasury are required to provide a place called "The Office of Land 10
Revenue Records and Inrolments," for the reception and safe custody
of all the books of entry, records and other official papers belonging to the
Office of Land Revenue: AND whereas it is expedient that the Accounts
so referred to the Commissioners for auditing the Public Accounts by
the first-recited Act, after the same shall have been declared and 15
signed, as provided by the said Act of the second year of the reign of
King GEORGE the Fourth, shall be inrolled in the said Office of Land
Revenue Records and Inrolments, as well as in the Office of Her
Majesty's Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer; BE it Enacted,
That every Account referred by the first-recited Act to the Commis- 20
sioners for examining and auditing the Public Accounts of the King-
dom, after it shall have been inrolled of record in the Office of Her
Majesty's Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer, shall be forth-
with sent to the said Office of Land Revenue Record and Inrol-
ments for inrolment there; and after inrolment thereof in such lastly 25
mentioned office, every such Account shall be forthwith returned to and
finally kept in the Office of the said Commissioners for examining
and auditing the Public Accounts.
