Capt. Nicholas Peirce of Engine No. 9 applys for the Premium allowed by the Town for bringing their Engine to work first on the late Fire at M'. Toreys House which was granted

Mr. John Andrews inform'd on the 7. Inst. that a few Days before he received into his House as a dry Nurse one Margaret Orcut an Inhabitant of Hingham, but last from Mr. Elisha Doans of this Town aged about 19 or 20 Years

Mr. Walley informed on the 7. Inst. that he had on ye. 22a. January received into his House as a Servant one Rebeccah Bradshaw born in Medford in the County of Middlesex

The Selectmen have agreed to appoint another Measurer of Wood coming into Town by Land, for the South part of the Town Mr. Farrington is to pay as ground Rent for the Land he improves of the Towns near the Fortification five pounds p Quarter, the Rent to commence the 1st. of February Inst. & that Mr. Farrington have notice of the same sent p Mr. Nazro

The Committee for Assigning the Rates proper to be taken by the Ticket Porters for their Labour &c. have attended the business Reported the following prices to be allowed them; which were approved of by the Selectmen - Vizt.

For carrying a Trunk or Barrell, or Wheelbarrow Load of Goods from any Warehouse or place on the Long Wharff, Merchant Row to any other Warehouse or place on said Wharff, or Row or to and from any other place of any less distance than Sixty Rods £- 64. From Long Wharff State Street or Merchants Rowe [41.] to Milk Street, School Street, Tremont & Hanover Street, and Northward as far as Cross Street, and all places of like distance

It is determined by the Selectmen, that they will allow Mr. Andrew Tukesbury, not more than eight shillings p Week for keeping Mrs. Ross a distracted Person for the future & if this allowance is not satisfactory he is permitted to put her off the Island

Mr. Andrews a Committee to order some repairs in the way to Master Carter's House

Ordered, that the Town Clerk issue a Warrant for a Town Meeting the 12th of March Inst. 10 o'Clock A.M. for the choice of Town Officers &c.

Messrs. Edes & Son have the printing of the Notifications for the ensuing Town Meeting

Mr. Cunningham & Walley, to wait on the Rev. M'. Everet, to open the Town Meeting with prayer

Mr. Walley appointed to confer further with M. Thompson that Report may be made thereon to the Town

The following is Recorded as the doings of the Justices & Selectmen in the laying out of Lynn Street, at the North part of Boston Vizt.

[44.] Whereas great desolation has happened in one of the Streets in the North part of Boston in the County of Suffolk called Lynn Street in the time of the Late war, and whereas it has become necessary to regulate & enlarge said Street for the benefit & accomodation of the Inhabitants of sa North part of the Town of Boston, We the Subscribers, Justices Assigned to keep the peace within and for said County now in being, and Inhabitants of said Town, & the Selectmen of said Town, being a Major part of both, do hereby regulate, enlarge & lay out said street, in manner following Vizt. Begining at that end of s Street, where it butts upon Middle Street so called, at the south east corner of the house called the Globe Tavern, on the North side of sd Lynn Street, thence running Westwardly till it comes to the Land of Hemmenways, two hundred feet, thence running, a little more Westwardly, three hundred & seven feet till it comes to Land improved by Pike, thence running, a little more westwardly, to a turpentine house, on land of Thomas Jarvis, three hundred and eight feet, cutting off about four feet of said house, thence running, a little more northwardly, One hundred & fifty one feet

to a Stake thence running more westwardly thirty six feet, till it strikes the North end of the West line of Ferry Street so called and on the South side by a parrallel line of Forty feet distant from the North line, throughout, from said Middle street to said Ferry street except where Whites house & Land, Swift & Richardson & Richard Smiths houses and Lands and part of Coulters house and Land interfeers in [45.] all which places the bounds of said houses & Lands are to be considered as the bounds of said Lynn Street, according to the annexed plan, which Street Viz. Lynn Street is from hence forth to be considered as one of the publick Streets, ways, or Passages of said Town of Boston. Witness whereof we the said Justices and Selectmen have hereunto set our hands & Seals at Boston aforesaid, the twenty eight Day of September in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty six
