The CHAIRMAN. How would it do if, in the next 10 days, anybody desires to be heard in opposition to the bill, that we open the hearings again, and if no one take advantage of the opportunity to be heard the hearings will be considered closed?

Mr. TOWNER. I think that would be well, Mr. Chairman.

The CHAIRMAN. Then let it be known that we will be glad, if anyone desires to be heard in opposition to the bill, to open the hearings and any such party may call on the House committee or the Senate committee. I hope that this will be given as wide publicity as possible, and if at the end of 10 days we have no request of that kind the hearings will be considered closed.

(Thereupon, at 12.01 p. m. the hearing was adjourned, subject to the call of the chairman.)
