same be continued to the next session of the General Assembly, and that the petitioners, previous to the first day of October next, give notice of the pendency of the same, by causing an attested copy of this resolution to be left by a proper officer or indifferent person, at the office of the town clerk in each of the towns in the county of Litchfield, or directed by mail, post-paid, to such town-clerk, and also published at least six weeks successively, in each of the newspapers published in the counties of Litchfield, Fairfield and New Haven.

MARY ALLEN FROM MOSES ALLEN.

Upon the petition of Mary Allen, of Ellington, showing to this Assembly, that on the 12th day of April, 1848, she was lawfully married to Moses Allen, of said Ellington, and praying for a divorce, for reasons set forth in said petition, as per petition on file, dated the 17th day of April, 1849:

Resolved, That the marriage relation now subsisting between the said Mary Allen and Moses Allen, be, and the same hereby is dissolved, and the said Mary is hereby released and discharged from all obligations to the said Moses, arising out of the said marriage covenant, and the said Mary is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried.

SALLY BEACH FROM LUMAN BEACH.

Upon the petition of Sally Beach, of Litchfield, brought to this Assembly, praying for a divorce from her husband Luman Beach, of said Litchfield, as per petition on file, dated the 20th day of February, A. D. 1849 :

Resolved, That the marriage relation subsisting between the said Sally Beach and the said Luman Beach be, and the same is hereby dissolved; and the said Sally Beach is hereby divorced, discharged and released from all the duties and obligations to the said Luman Beach, arising out of their marriage contract: and the said Sally Beach is hereby declared, sole, single and unmarried.

Resolved further, That the said Luman Beach do pay, and he is hereby ordered to pay, to the said Sally Beach, as alimony, the sum of five hundred dollars, which said sum of five hundred dollars so ordered to be paid, the said Sally is hereby authorized to recover by action of debt, or any other proper action brought for that purpose; and that the said sum be, and remain a lien and charge upon all the real estate of the said Luman Beach until paid.

ELIZABETH C. BOND FROM GEORGE W. BOND.

Upon the petition of Elizabeth C. Bond, of Canaan, in the county of Litchfield, praying for a divorce from her husband George W. Bond, for reasons set forth in said petition, and for a restoration of the name of Elizabeth C. Sears, as per petition on file, dated the 24th day of October, 1848:

Resolved, That the marriage relation heretofore subsisting between the said Elizabeth C. Bond and said George W. Bond be, and the same hereby is dissolved, and the said Elizabeth is hereby released and discharged from all obligations to the said George W. Bond arising out of said marriage contract, and the said Elizabeth C. is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried.

Resolved further, That the name of the said Elizabeth C.

Bond is hereby changed to that of Elizabeth C. Sears, by which said latter name she shall hereafter be known and called.

SARAH M. CHAMPLIN FROM ASA J. CHAMPLIN.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the marriage relation now subsisting between Sarah M. Champlin and Asa J. Champlin be, and the same hereby is dissolved; and the said Sarah M. Champlin is hereby divorced from her said husband, and declared to be sole, single and unmarried.

Resolved further, That the said Sarah M. Champlin be, and she hereby is assigned, constituted and appointed guardian to her minor daughter Jane M. Champlin, and that she have the sole control and custody of her said minor child, without any interference from the said Asa J. Champlin.

FRANCES E. CURTIS FROM HARRY B. CURTIS.

Upon the petition of Frances E. Curtis, of Southington, in Hartford county, praying for a divorce from her husband Harry B. Curtis, for reasons set forth in her petition on file :

Resolved, That the marriage relation now subsisting between the said Frances E. Curtis and the said Harry B. Curtis be, and the same is hereby dissolved; and the said Frances E. Curtis is hereby divorced, discharged and released from all the duties and obligations to the said Harry B. Curtis, arising out of said marriage contract, and the said Frances E. Curtis is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried; and that the name of the said Frances E.

Curtis be, and the same is hereby changed to the name of Frances E. Doolittle, her maiden name, by which latter name she shall be hereafter known and called.

Resolved further, That the sum of four hundred and twenty-one dollars be, and the same is hereby assigned to the said Frances E. by way of alimony, from and out the estate of the said Harry B. Curtis; and that the articles of personal property contained in the schedule annexed hereto, belonging to the said Harry B. Curtis, be, and the same is hereby assigned to the said Frances E., for her own use, and the title to said property shall be, and the same is hereby absolutely vested in the said Frances E.

HENRY CUTLER FROM SUSAN CUTLER.

Upon the petition of Henry Cutler, of Plainfield, in the State of Connecticut, praying for a divorce from his wife Susan Cutler, on the ground of the insanity of the said Susan at the time of marriage, which fact was unknown to the said Henry until after the said marriage; this Assembly finding the facts stated in said petition to be true, and further finding that the said Henry has paid to Calvin Day, Esq., of Pomfret, in trust for the use and benefit of said Susan, the sum of five hundred dollars :

Resolved by this Assembly, That the marriage relation heretofore subsisting between Henry Cutler and Susan Cutler, be, and the same hereby is dissolved, and the said Henry is hereby released and discharged from all obligations arising out of said marriage contract, and the said Henry is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried.

ELISHA HALL FROM NANCY A. HALL.

Upon the petition of Elisha Hall against Nancy A. Hall, both of Wallingford, in this State, praying for a divorce, as per petition on file, dated April 24th, 1849:

Resolved, That the marriage relation now subsisting between the said Elisha Hall and Nancy A. Hall be, and the same is hereby dissolved; and the said Elisha Hall is hereby divorced, released and discharged from all obligations to the said Nancy A. Hall, arising out of said marriage contract, and the said Elisha Hall is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried.

CHARLES LYMAN FROM LYDIA S. LYMAN.

Upon the petition of Charles Lyman, of Salisbury, against Lydia S. Lyman, praying for a divorce, as per petition on file, dated April 17th, 1849:

Resolved, That the marriage relation now subsisting between the said Charles Lyman and Lydia S. Lyman be, and the same is hereby dissolved; and the said Charles Lyman is hereby divorced, released and discharged from all obligations to the said Lydia S. Lyman arising out of the said marriage contract, and the said Charles Lyman is hereby declared to be sole, single and unmarried.
