SEC. 7. This act shall not take effect until each of said districts shall, at a meeting warned for that purpose, which warning shall be by advertising in the Waterbury American, two weeks successively before said meeting, have assented to and approved of this act, and lodged a certificate of such assent and approval with the clerk of the school society of Waterbury.

SEC. 8. This act may be altered, amended, and repealed, at the pleasure of the General Assembly.

ANNEXING LANDS OF EBENEZER T. ADAMS, OF LEBANON, TO FIRST SCHOOL SOCIETY OF LEBANON.

On the petition of Ebenezer T. Adams, of the town of Lebanon, praying to be set off from the first school district, in the fourth school society of Lebanon, and be annexed to the ninth school district, in the first school society in Windham :—

Resolved by this Assembly, That the lands of Ebenezer T. Adams, of Lebanon, in the county of New London, which lie in said Lebanon, contiguous to and adjoining the town of Windham, in the county of Windham, in quantity about one hundred acres, with the buildings thereon, be, and they are hereby annexed to, and made part of the ninth school district in the first school society of Windham, and that said Ebenezer T. Adams, and those who may succeed him in the occupation of said lands and buildings, shall be members of said ninth school society, entitled to all privileges and subject to all liabilities as such.

AMENDING THE RESOLUTION DIVIDING THE SCHOOL SOCIETY OF GLASTENBURY.

Resolved by this Assembly, That so much of the seventh section of the "Resolution dividing the school society of Glastenbury," passed in 1845, as requires the hearse and fixtures, and hearse house to be kept up, at and for the use of the Centre burying ground, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

And be it further resolved, That the school society of Glastenbury, and the school society of South Glastenbury, have power to sell the said hearse and fixtures and hearse house: and that the avails of the same shall be appropriated for the use of the Centre burying ground, under the direction of the "Committee appointed to sell burying lots," in said burying ground.

ESTABLISHING BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN MILTON AND LITCHFIELD SCHOOL SOCIETIES.

Upon the petition of Samuel H. Dudley and others, and of A. S. Lewis and others, societies' committees of the school societies of Milton and Litchfield, praying for an alteration of the boundary lines between said school societies, as per petition on file, dated the 29th day of March, 1849:

Resolved by this Assembly, That the following be, and is hereby established as the true boundary line between said school societies, viz:-commencing at a stone monument at the south east corner of Milton society, a few rods northerly of the dwelling house of John Wilmot, in his meadow, thence running north, 25 degrees east, five hundred and

thirty six rods, to a walnut tree and stones laid to it, on Frederick Plumb's land, thence north, 8 degrees 35 minutes east, eight hundred and sixty-four rods, to an ancient monument in Goshen line, between the towns of Goshen and Litchfield, on the south side of the highway, a few rods east of the dwelling house of James C. Newcomb.

ANNEXING A PART OF THE WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN HARTFORD FIRST SOCIETY, то THE SECOND NORTH SCHOOL

DISTRICT.

Resolved by this Assembly, That all that part of the west middle district, of the first school society of the town of Hartford, bounded as follows, viz.: north by the centre line [of] Walnut street, so called, east by the west line of the city of Hartford, south by a line parallel to the said centre line of said street and one hundred and seventy feet distant therefrom, west by a line in continuation of the present western termination of said street, be, and the same hereby is, together with the persons residing on the same, annexed to, and made a part of the second north school district, in said school society.

ANNEXING BOOTH'S HILL SCHOOL DISTRICT TO THE SCHOOL SOCIETY OF HUNTINGTON.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the territory included within the limits of the school district of Booth's Hill, with all the inhabitants residing thereon, be, and hereby is set off from the school society of Trumbull, and be annexed and become a part of the school society of Huntington.

AUTHORIZING EXCHANGE OF SCHOOL

FUND BOND OF HENRY C.

FLAGG, FOR THAT OF MARY MUNRO.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the Commissioner of the School Fund be, and he is hereby authorized to receive the bond of Mary Munro, of the city of New Haven, widow, for the bond of Henry C. Flagg, of said New Haven. Provided, that the security be ample and satisfactory to said commissioner.

AUTHORIZING EXCHANGE OF SCHOOL FUND BOND OF REUBEN ROWLEY, FOR THAT OF STEPHEN AND JOHN PATRIDGE.

Resolved by this Assembly, That the Commissioner of the School Fund be, and he is hereby authorized to receive the bond of Stephen Patridge and John Patridge, for and in lieu of the bond of Reuben Rowley; provided, that the security be ample and satisfactory.

AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSIONER

OF THE SCHOOL FUND TO PUR

CHASE THE RIGHT OF CORNELIA A. AND HENRY SCHUYLER, TO CERTAIN REAL ESTATE.

Upon the petition of Cornelia A. Schuyler of Whitestown, in the State of New York :

Resolved by this Assembly, That the Commissioner of the School Fund be, and he is hereby authorized to pay to said Cornelia A. Schuyler and her brother Henry Schuyler, the sum of one hundred and ninety-eight dollars and ninetyfive cents, with interest thereon from the 1st of April, 1836,

whenever the said Cornelia A., and Henry, execute and deliver to said Commissioner a valid release, conveying to said state of Connecticut all their right in and to a farm of land of about ninety-eight acres, in Westmoreland, Oneida county, state of New York, originally mortgaged to said state by their late father John Schuyler, deceased.

AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSIONER OF THE SCHOOL FUND TO MAKE AN ALLOWANCE IN PARTIAL PAYMENT OF THE BOND OF LIBERTY BOWERS.

Resolved, That the Commissioner of the School Fund be, and he hereby is authorized to apply the sum of forty-three dollars and eleven cents, in part payment of the bond of Liberty Bowers; the same being an allowance made on account of the failure of the title to a portion of the land sold by the state to said Bowers, for which said bond was given.

AUTHORIZING EXCHANGE OF SCHOOL FUND BOND OF SELAH LEWIS FOR THAT OF MARTIN COOK, 2ND.

Resolved, That the Commissioner of the School Fund be, and he hereby is authorized and empowered to cancel and discharge the bond of Selah Lewis, now due to the school fund, and in lieu thereof to take and receive the bond of Martin Cook, 2nd., on being secured to his satisfaction, according to the principles adopted in the management of

said fund.
