WARREN, On calling the Convention to order, Mr. Moulder announced the first business to be the appointment of a temporary Chair man. On motion, James Denman, County Superintendent of San Francisco, was chosen temporary Chairman, and L. C. Van Allen, County Superintendent of San Joaquin, temporary Secretary. On motion, the Chair appointed the following committee, consisting of one from each county represented, to nominate permanent officers of the Convention: During their absence, Dr. Gibbons of Alameda alluded to the fact that most of the Delegates were strangers to each other, and moved that the Chair appoint a committee of six, consisting of three ladies and three gentlemen, whose duty it should be, during the session of the Convention, to introduce the members to each other. The motion was carried, and the Chair appointed as Committee on Introduction. Dr. GIBBONS, Mr. VAN ALLEN, Miss MARKS, Miss TINGLEY, Mrs. LIVINGSTON.
