CHAPTER XV.

An act authorising the secretary, treasurer and audi tor to contract with a printer or printers, and for the distribution of the laws and journals.

The duty of

Sec. 1. Sec. 4. BE it further enacted, That each

judge, justice of the peace, sheriff, coroner, Officers enti recorder, notary public, each county commis. tled to a copy of laws, &c. sioner, and each board of trustees, elected under the act for the incorporation of the original surveyed townships, shall be entitled to one copy of the laws; and each member of the general assembly shall be entitled to one copy of the laws and one volume of the journals of both houses of the general assembly, annually; and Duty of clks the clerk of the court of common pleas, of each in making county, shall deliver to each officer above men- distribution tioned, one copy of the laws on demand, reserving one copy of the laws for his own use, and one for the use of the grand jury, and distribute the balance, if any there may be, to the trustees of the several townships, in proportion to the number of inhabitants, which laws are to be delivered to the township clerks on demand, and by them to be distributed among the officers in said township: Provided, however, Proviso That if any or all of the above named officers, shall fail in making a demand, at the clerk's office, for a volume of the laws, twenty days after the clerk shall have received the same, in that case, the clerk shall keep in his office so many volumes as he may deem sufficient for the officers aforesaid, and distribute the remainder among the several townships, as before directed.

Sec. 5. BE it further enacted, That there Secretary to shall be forwarded, by the secretary of state as dis. journals aforesaid, to each county in this state, one equal proportion, as near as may be, of the journals of each house of the general assembly, according to the number of volumes of the laws, allotted to each county annually, to be distributed by the clerk of such county among the several townships in his county, to each township

Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, That the act authorising the secretary, treasurer and auditor of state to contract with printers in certain cases, passed on the fourteenth of January, one thousand eight hundred and eleven, and also the act for the more speedy distribution of the laws and journals and for other purposes passed the seventeenth of January, one thousand eight hundred and nine, be, and the same are hereby repeated.

CHAPTER XVI.

An act to amend an act, entitled An act authoris. ing the secretary, treasurer and auditor to contract with a printer or printers, and for the distribution of the laws and journals.'

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the general assem bly of the state of Ohio, That the secretary, treasurer and auditor, when they give notice

that they will receive proposals for printing as Bonds with is directed in the second section of the act to security to which this is an amendment, and also when accompany they shall give notice that they will receive pro- pinting and proposals for posals for carrying the laws and journals into carrying the the several counties or districts in this state, laws, &c. agreeably to the third section of the above recited act, they shall at the same time give notice that bonds, with good and sufficient security, conditioned for the faithful performance of such contract, executed to the treasurer, must in all cases accompany their proposals, and without such bond shall accompany the proposals, the secretary, treasurer and auditor shall not be bound thereby.

Sec. 2.
