Continuance of orders under this and the former A&t. ry provifion for the regulation of trade between this Province and the United-States America by land or by inland navigation," Be it therefore enacted by the King's moft excellent Majefty by and with the advice and confent of the Legislative Council and Affembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and affembled by virtue of and under the authority of An Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled," An Act to repeal certain parts of An A&t paffed in the fourteenth year "of His Majesty's reign, intituled, "An A&t for making more effectual provifion for "the Government of the Province of Quebec in North America" and to make further "provifion for the Government of the faid Province" and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the fame, that the faid A&t, intituled, "An Act for making a tem• "porary provifion for the regulation of trade between this Province and the United "States of America by land or by inland navigation" and all matters and things therein contained, fhall continue and be in force until the first day of January one thoufand eight hundred and eight, and from thence to the end of the then next Seffion of the Provincial Parliament and no longer. Provided always, that all and every order or orders iffued and published under the authority of the aforefaid A&t, or which shall be iffued or published under the authority of this Act, fhail not continue and be in force longer than to the faid first day of January one thoufand eight hundred and eight, and from thence to the end of the then next Seffion of the Provincial Parliament. Preamble. CA P. II. AN ACT further to continue, for a limited time, An A&t paffed in the forty-third year of His Majefty's reign, intituled, "An Act for the bet"ter prefervation of His Majefty's Government as by Law happily efla blifhed in this Province.' (16th April, 1807.) WHEREAS An Act was paffed by the Legiflature of this Province in the forty-third year of His Majesty's reign, intituled, " An A&t for the better prefervation of His Majefty's Government as by Law happily established in this Province" which Act was to have continuance only until the end of the prefent Seffi on of the Provincial Parliament. And whereas it is expedient that the faid A&t fhould be further continued; Be it therefore enacted by the King's most excellent Majefty by and with the advice and confent of the Legiflative Council and Affembly of the Province of Lower-Canada, constituted and affembled by virtue of and under the authority of An A&t paffed in the Parliament of Great Britain, intituled, “ An "Act to repeal certain parts of An A&t passed in the fourteenth year of His Ma"jesty's reign, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual provifion for the Go"vernment of the Province of Quebec in North America and to make further provifion 66 "" for "provifion temporaire pour le règlement du commerce entre cette Province et les Etats"Unis de l'Amérique, par terre ou par la navigation intérieure;" Qu'il foit donc ftatué par la très excellente Majefté du Roi, par et de l'avis et confentement du Confeil Législatif et de l'Affemblée de la Province du Bas- Canada, conflitués et affemblés en vertu et fous l'autorité d'un Acte du Parlement de la Grande Bretagne, intitulé, "Alle qui rappelle certaines parties d'un Acte paffé dans la quatorzième Année "du règne de Sa Majefté, intitulé, Ale qui pourvoit plus efficacement pour le Gouver "nement de la Province de Québec dans l'Amérique Septentrionale;" et qui pourvoit plus amplement pour le Gouvernement de la dile Province;" Et il eft par le préfent fatué par la même autorité, que le dit Acte, intitulé, " Acte qui fait une provifion Acte de la 36e. temporaire pour le règlement du commerce entre cette Province et les Etats-Unis de l'Amérique, par terre ou par la navigation intérieure," et toutes matières et chofes y contenues continueront et feront en force jufqu'au premier jour de Janvier Mil huit cent huit, et de là jufqu'à la fin de la Seffion alors prochaine du Parlement Provincial, et pas plus longtems. Pourvu toujours, que tout et chaque ordre ou ordres émanés et publiés fous l'autorité du fusdit Acte, ou qui feront émanés et publiés fous l'autorité de cet A&te ne continueront point et ne feront point en force plus longtems que le dit premier jour de Janvier Mil huit cent huit, et de là jusqu'à la fin de la Seffion alors prochaine du Parlement Provincial. 16 Continuation de de Geo, III.
