The following is a statement of the date of each accident, the place where it occurred, the train, the cause, and the extent of the injuries inflicted upon each person, and the name of such person, as follows:

1871.

October 17. A boy jumped from a train while in motion, at Seventythird street, and had both feet badly crushed.

October 18. A child about two years of age, named Thos. McGraw, while playing on the track near Morrisania, was run over and instantly killed.

October 27. William L. Smith, an employe, was slightly injured by being struck by a freight car on a side track at Forty-ninth street, while riding on front of the switch engine.

October 28. William Bennett, driver of a four-horse team, which was hauling a car on Fourth avenue, was pushed from the car by a drunken man, and so seriously injured that he died next day.

November 1. Mr. E. D. Nelson, while walking on the track near Williams' Bridge, was run over and instantly killed.

November 2. Peter Kissinger and John Kissinger, in attempting to cross the track at Fifty-first street, with a horse and wagon, were run into by a switch engine, injuring the former fatally and the latter slightly, and killing the horse.

November 8. D. Dickinson, while walking on the track near White Plains, was run over and had both feet cut off. He subsequently died. November 20. John Bradley jumped from a freight car which was standing on the side track near Forty-eighth street, directly in advance of an approaching train, and was run over, receiving injuries from which he died the following day.

November 21. An unknown man, while walking on the track near Fordham, was struck by a passing train and fatally injured.

December 8. An unknown man was run over and instantly killed while walking on the track near Williams' Bridge.

December 11. The body of an unknown man was found near the track at One Hundred and Nineteenth street; supposed to have been run over by a night train.

December 14. H. Hamilton, in attempting to cross the track at Mott Haven, in face of an approaching train, was struck by the engine and slightly injured.

December 30. An unknown man, in attempting to get on the front platform of a city car while in motion, in the Bowery, fell under the car and was severely injured.

1872.

January 2. A boy named Peteler, in attempting to drive a horse and loaded wagon across the track, in the Bowery, directly in advance of a city car, was run into by the car, thrown out and killed by a barrel of pork, which was in the wagon, falling upon him.

January 10. An old man named Weber, in attempting to drive a horse and wagon across the track at Mt. Kisco, was run into by a freight train, thrown out and badly injured.

January 18. R. White, about 75 years of age, while walking on the up track, near One Hundred and Ninth street, to avoid an approaching train, stepped on the down track, directly in front of a passing train, and was run over and instantly killed

January 22. Mr. Levy, with his child on his arm, stepped from a Third avenue car, in the Bowery, directly in front of a passing city car, and was knocked down, run over and seriously injured, and his child was killed.

January 29. A boy named James Lynch, in attempting to jump on a car while in motion, at Forty-fifth street, fell and had his leg injured.

February 21. James Russell, a flagman, was struck by a passing train, near Fifty-ninth street, and had his arm broken.

June 7. An unknown man, while walking on the track near Morrisania, was struck by a passing train and slightly injured.

June 18. Wm. Gray, while walking on the track near Ghent, was struck and injured by a passing train.

June 19. Wm. Ringwood, brakeman on a freight train, fell from the platform of a car at Millerton, and had his foot crushed by the wheel.

June 30. John Goetz died from injuries received in jumping from a city car on Fourth avenue.

July 1. A newsboy named Flandreau, in attempting to jump on the train while in motion, at Woodlawn, had his foot injured.

July 8. J. Trickney, while walking on the track near Purdy's, was run over and fatally injured.

July 12. Patrick Rooney, a flagman, was struck and slightly injured by a passing train at Fifty-fourth street.

August 10. The two rear cars of an express train ran off the track at Fiftieth street, colliding with freight cars on the side track, and instantly killing Thomas Samon, a flagman, who was standing between the tracks at the time.

August 14. Alexander Kenderman, in attempting to jump from a train while in motion, at Mott Haven, fell under the wheels and had his leg crushed.

August 14. A boy named Simon Frazer, while playing on the track at Seventy-sixth street, was struck and injured by a passing train. August 22. Patrick Donnelly, while sitting on the track at Kensico, was run over and instantly killed. He was intoxicated.

August 27. A deaf and dumb man, named Hoag, was run over and killed while walking on the track near Martinsdale.

September 9. Cyrus Armstrong, a brakeman, while riding on the top of a freight car was struck by the bridge at Dover Furnace and killed.

September 12. An unknown man stepped suddenly in front of an approaching train at Seventy-eighth street, was run over and instantly killed.

September 30. W. Casey, laborer on a gravel train, had his foot crushed under the wheels while jumping from the train while in motion near Morrisania.
