19 Wann Jemand das Wort von dem Reiche höret, und nicht verstehet, fo kommt der Arge, und reißt es hin, ivas da gesäet ist in sein Herz; und der ist es, der an dem Wege gefäet ist.

20 Der aber auf das Steinigte ge= fäet ist, der ist es, wann Jemand das Wort höret, und daffelbige bald aufnimmt mit Freuden;

21 Aber es hat nicht Wurzel in ihm, sondern er ist wetterwendisch; wann sich Trübsal und Verfolgung erhebt um des Worts willen, so ärgert er sich bald.

22 Der aber unter die Dornen ge= fäet ist, der ist es, wann Jemand das Wort höret, und die Sorge dieser Welt und Betrug des Reichthums erstickt das Wort, und bringet nicht Frucht.

23 Der aber in das gute Land gesäet ist, der ist es, wann Jemand das Wort höret, und verstehet es, und dann auch Frucht bringet, und etlicher trägt hundertfältig, etlicher aber sech zigfältig, etlicher dreyssigfältig.

24 Er legte ihnen ein anderes Gleichniß vor, und sprach: Das Himmelreich ist gleich einem Menschen, der guten Samen auf seinen Acker fäete.

25 Da aber die Leute schliefen, kam fein Feind, und fäete Unkraut zwischen den Weizen, und gieng davon.

26 Da nun das Kraut wuchs, und Frucht brachte; da fand sich auch das

Unkraut.

27 Da traten die Knechte zu dem Hausvater, und sprachen: Herr, haft du nicht guten Samen auf deinen Acer gefäet? Woher hat er denn das Unfraut?

28 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Das hat der Feind gethan. Da sprachen die Knechte; Willst du denn, daß wir hingehen, und es ausgäten ?

29 Er aber sprach: Nein! auf daß thr nicht zugleich den Weizen mit ausraufet, so ihr das Unkraut ausgätet. 30 Lasset beydes mit einander wachfen bis zu der Ernte; und um der

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way-side.

20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

24 T Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of

Ernte Zeit will ich zu den Schnittern sagen: Sammelt zuvor das Unkraut, und bindet co in Bündlein, daß man es verbrenne; aber den Weizen sammelt mir in meine Scheuren.

31 Ein anderes Gleichniß legte er ihnen vor, und sprach: Das Himmelreich ist gleich einem Senfforne, das ein Mensch nahm, und fäete es auf seinen Acker.

32 Welches das kleinste ist unter allen Samen; wann es aber erwächst, so ist es das grösseste unter dem Kohl, und wird ein Baum, daß die Vögel unter dem Himmel kommen, und wohnen unter seinen Zweigen.

33 Ein anderes Gleichnß redete er zu ihnen: Das Himmelreich ist einem Sauerteige gleich, den ein Weib nahm, und vermengete ihn unter drey Scheffel Mehl, bis daß es gar durchsäuert ward.

34 Solches alles redete Jesus durch Gleichnisse zu dem Volke, und ohne Gleichnisse redete er nicht zu ihnen.

35 Auf daß erfüllet würde, das gesagt ist durch den Propheten, der da spricht: Ich will meinen Mund aufthun in Gleichnissen, und will ausspre chen die Heimlichkeiten von Anfang der Welt.

36 Da ließ Jesus das Volk von sich, und kam heim. Und seine Jünger traten zu ihm, und sprachen: Deute uns dieses Gleichniß vom Unkraut auf dem Acker.

37 Er antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Des Menschen Sohn ist es, der da guten Samen säet.

38 Der Acker ist die Welt. Der gute Same sind die Kinder des Reichs. Das Unkraut sind die Kinder der Bosheit.

39 Der Feind, der sie säct, ist der Teufel. Die Ernte ist das Ende der Welt. Die Schnitter sind die Engel.

40 Gleichwie man nun das Unkraut ausgätet, und mit Feuer verbrennt; so wird es auch am Ende dieser Welt er gehen.

41 Des Menschen Sohn wird seine

harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

31 ¶ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard-seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 The Son of man shall send

42 Und werden sie in den Fenerofen werfen da wird sehn Heulen und Zähnklappen.

43 Dann werden die Gerechten leuchten, wie die Sonne, in ihres Vaters Reiche. Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre.

44 Abermal ist gleich das Himmelreich einem verborgenen Schatze im Acter, welchen ein Mensch fand, und verbarg ihn, und gieng hin vor Freuden über denselbigen, und verkaufte alles, was er hatte, und kaufte den Acker.

45 Abermal ist gleich das Himmelreich einem Kaufmanné, der gute Berlen suchte.

46 Und da er eine köstliche Perle fand, gieng er hin, und verkaufte alles, was er hatte, und kaufte dieselbige. 47 bermal ist gleich das Himmel- | reich einem Netze, das ins Meer gewer fen ist, damit man allerley Gattung fänget.

48 Wenn es aber voll ist, so ziehen sie es heraus an das Ufer, sitzen und lefen die guten in ein Gefäß zusammen, aber die faulen werfen sie weg.

49 Also wird es auch am Ende der Welt gehen. Die Engel werden aus gehen, und die Bösen von den Gerechten scheiden,

50 Und werden sie in den Feuerofen werfen da wird Heulen und Zähn flappen seyn.

51 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr das alles verstanden? Sie sprachen: Ja, Herr.

52 Da sprach er: Darum, çin jeglicher Schriftgelehrter, zum Himmelreiche gelehrt, ist gleich einem Hausvater, der aus seinem Schatze Neues und Altes hervor trägt.

53 Und es begab sich, da Jesus diese Gleichnisse vollendet hatte, gieng er von dannen,

54 Und kam in sein Vaterland, und lehrete sie in ihren Schulen, also auch,

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant-man seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven, is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

53 T And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them

55 Ist er nicht eines Zimmermanns Sohn? Heißt nicht seine Mutter Maria? Und seine Brüder Jakob, und Joses, und Simon, und Judas ?

56 Und seine Schwestern, sind sie nicht alle bey uns? Woher kommt ihm denn das alles?

57 Und ärgerten sich an ihm. Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ein Prophet gilt nirgend weniger, denn in seinem Baterlande und in seinem Hause.

58 Und er that daselbst nicht viele Zeichen, um ihres Unglaubens willen.

Das 14 Capitel.

u der Zeit kam das Gerücht von Jefu vor den Vierfürsten Herodes. 2 Und er sprach zu seinen Knechten: Dieser ist Johannes, der Täufer; er ist von den Todten auferstanden, darum thut er solche Thaten.

3 Denn Herodes hatte Johannem gegriffen, gebunden und in das Gefängniß gelegt, von wegen der Hero dias, feines Bruders Philippi Weib. 4 Denn Johannes hatte zu ihm ge= sagt: Es ist nicht recht, daß du sie habest.

5 Und er hätte ihn gern getödtet, fürchtete sich aber vor dem Volke: denn sie hielten ihn für einen Propheten.

6 Da aber Herodes seinen Jahrstag begieng, da tanzte die Tochter der He rodias vor ihnen. Das gefiel Herodi wohl.

7 Darum verhieß er ihr mit einem Eide, er wollte ihr geben, was sle for dern würde.

8 Und als sie zuvor von ihrer Mutter zugerichtet war, sprach sie: Gib mir her auf einer Schüffel das Haupt 30hannis, des Täufers.

9 Und der König ward traurig; doch um des Eides willen, und derer, die mit

Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

58 And he did not many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.

CHAPTER XIV.

T that time Herod the Tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, 2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

6 But when Herod's birth-day was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and

14 Und Jesus gieng hervor, und sah das grosse Volk; und es jammerte ihn derselbigen, und heilete ihre Kranken.

15 Am Abend aber traten seine Jünger zu ihm, und sprachen: Dieß ist eine Wüste, und die Nacht fällt daher; laß das Volk von dir, daß sie hin in die Märkte gehen, und ihnen Speise kaufen.

16 Aber Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Es ist nicht Noth, daß sie hingehen; gebt ihr ihnen zu essen.

17 Sie sprachen: Wir haben hier nichts, denn fünf Brod und zween Fische.

18 Und er sprach: Bringet mir sle

her.

19 Und er hieß das Volk sich lagern auf das Gras, und nahm die fünf Brod und die zween Fische, sah auf gen Himmel, und dankte, und brach e8, und gab die Brod den Jüngern; und die Jünger gaben sie dem Volke.

20 Und sie assen alle, und wurden fatt, und hoben auf, was übrig blieb von Brocken zwölf Körbe voll.

21 Die aber gegessen hatten, derer waren beh fünf tausend Mann, ohne Weiber und Kinder.

11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

13 ¶ When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

18 He said, Bring them hither to

me.

19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
