FRIDAY, March 9, 1810.

On motion of Mr. Clay,

Ordered, That Mr. Moseley be appointed of the committee on that part of the President's message at the commencement of the session which relates to the organization of the militia of the United States. On motion of Mr. Wilson,

Ordered, That when the House adjourns it will adjourn to meet again on Monday next.

On motion of Mr. Love,

Ordered, That the petition of John Brent, late collector of the customs at Nanjemoy, and John Randall, collector at Annapolis, in the state of Maryland, be referred to the Committee of Commerce and Manufactures.

Mr. Love, from the Committee for the District of Columbia, presented a bill to amend the laws within the district of Columbia, which was received and read the first time.

On motion,

The said bill was read the second time, and committed to a committee of the whole House on Friday

next.

An engrossed bill to make public a road in Washington county, in the district of Columbia, was read the third time.

Resolved, That the same do pass, and that the title be, "An act to make public a road in Washington county, in the district of Columbia.”

Ordered, That the Clerk of this House do carry the said bill to the Senate, and desire their concur

rence.

On motion of Mr. Gholdson,

Ordered, That the unfinished business of yester. day do lie on the table.

The House then, according to the order of the day, resolved itself into a committee of the whole House, on the report of the select committee on the petition

of Amy Dardin; and after some time spent therein, Mr. Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr. Desha reported that the committee had, according to order, had the said report under consideration, and directed him to report their agreement to the resolution therein contained.

The said resolution being read at the Clerk's table in the words following, to wit:

Resolved, That the prayer of the petitioner is reasonable and ought to be granted.

The question was taken that the House do concur with the committee of the whole House in their agree. ment to the said resolution,

And resolved in the affirmative.

Ordered, That a bill be brought in pursuant to the said resolution, and that Mr. Gholdson, Mr. Tracy, and Mr. Heister, do prepare and bring in the same.

The House, according to the order of the day, resolved itself into a committee of the whole House, on the report of the Committee of Commerce and Manufactures, on the petition of Tristram Hussey; and after some time spent therein, Mr. Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr. Desha reported, that the committee had, according to order, had the said report under consideration, and directed him to report their agreement to the resolution therein contained, to wit:

Resolved, That the prayer of the petitioner is reasonable and ought to be granted.

Resolved, That the prayer of the petitioner is reasonable and ought to be granted.

The question was then taken to concur with the committee of the whole House in their disagreement to the resolution submitted in the said report,
