iurther have full power in all things to administer the affairs of the club, and to make or cause to be made any purchase or contract in conducting the club, to adopt a common seal, and to make, from time to time, any and all by-laws not contrary to law nor the provisions of this act, which when approved by the Governor-in-Council shall have the force of law, regulating the payment of dues, the issue and registration of stock-certificates, the forfeiture of stock for the nonpayment of any amount due thereon or any amount due the club, the disposal of forfeited stock and the proceeds thereof, the transfer of the stock, the appointment, functions, duties and removal of all agents, officers and servants of the club, their remuneration, the time and place for holding the general annual and other meetings of the club, and of the directors, which must be held in the province of Nova Scotia, the calling of meetings of the club and of the board of di ectors, the requirements as to proxies, the procedure in all things at such meetings, the imposition and recovery of all penalties and forfeitures admitting of regulation by by-law, the rights and duties of members, and the conduct in all other particulars of the affairs of the club; and every copy of any by-law, under the seal of the club, purporting to be signed by any officer of the club, shall be received in all courts of law as prima facie evidence of such by-law.

11. No member of the club shall be liable for the debts or liabilities of the club to a greater amount in the whole than the amount collectable from such member by calls by the club on stock not fully paid up, unless he shall have rendered himself personally liable for a greater sum by becoming surety for the debts of the club.

12. The seat or domicile of the corporation hereby Domicile created is fixed at Kedgemakooge Lake, near Maitland, in the County of Annapolis; and service upon the corporation may be made at the club house or establishment on the lands held by the said club at said Kedgemakooge Lake, by handling process or other notice to any officer or director of the club, or a person employed in such club house or establishment, or by posting process or other notice on the club house or establishment.

Operations, 13. The club shall not commence operations until twenty-five per cent. of its capital stock is subscribed, and ten per cent. of the same so subscribed is paid up.

Act. when to 14. This act shall cease and determine if effective operations are not commenced within two years from date of its passing.

Public to have right to hunt and fish on club lands.

15. Nothing in this act contained shall be construed to preclude or deprive any person from hunting game on any uncultivated lands owned or occupied by the club, or to fish in any of the waters or streams in such lands, it being expressly declared that the public shall have the right to hunt game on all of said club's uncultivated lands, and to take fish in said waters in said club's lands; provided that nothing in this act contained shall be construed as depriving either the Indians, or the Province of Nova Scotia, of any rights in any lands or waters acquired or claimed by the club under lease or otherwise.

An Act to Vest the Property of Knox Church, Blue
Mountain, in the County of Pictou, in
Trustees.

(Passed the 23rd day of April, A. D. 1909.)

SECTION 1. Property veeted in trustees.

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. All property, real and personal, now occupied ed in trustees. and used by the congregation of Knox Church, Blue Mountain, in the County of Pictou, in connection with the Presbyterian Church in Canada, is hereby vested in Alexander Chisholm, of Blue Mountain; John T. Ross, of Blanchard Road, and Alexander Chisholm, (J's son) of Moose River, as trustees of Knox Church, Blue Mountain, in connection with the Presbyterian

Church in Canada, and their successors in office, to be held by them upon the same uses and trusts as the same are now enjoyed by the said congregation of said Knox Church, Blue Mountain.

CHAPTER 154.

An Act to Incorporate The Ladies' Musical Club of the City of Halifax.

Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows:

1. Edith J. Archibald, Margaret White, Helen Incorporation Kennedy-Campbell, Kate Mackintosh, Mary Murphy, Anna F. Taylor, Jane H. Crichton, Bessie Hensley, Frances Foster, Agnes Crawford, Helen Collas, Eva Sircom, Elizabeth Page, Minnie K. Stead and such other persons as are now or may become members of the Ladies' Musical Club, are hereby created a body corporate by name of the Ladies' Musical Club of Halifax, and shall have a common seal.

2. The object of the club shall be a more perfect objects. knowledge and understanding of vocal and instrumental music, and of musical literature.

3. The club shall have the right to purchase, Power to puracquire and hold all lands and property necessary in chase, etc. order to carry out the objects and purposes for which incorporation is sought, provided that the value of the real estate held at any one time for the actual use of the club shall not exceed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000); and may mortgage, sell, lease, rent,

4. The club may receive, take, hold and enjoy all grants, donations or conveyances of land or other property made to the club, and may sell, lease, mortgage, exchange or otherwise dispose of the same, as may be deemed advisable for the purpose of aiding in carrying on the objects of the club. Provided that any property so acquired, or the proceeds thereof, shall be held and used for the purpose of such grants, donations or conveyances only, and for no other purpose whatever.

The club shall have and possess the power to make or become parties to promissory notes, bills of exchange, and negotiable paper made, drawn, accepted or endorsed or otherwise executed in accordance with any by-law of the club made in that behalf, and every instrument executed as aforesaid shall in no case require the seal of the club to be affixed, and no officer of the club, so making or drawing or accepting or endorsing any such instrument for the club, shall be individually liable thereupon.

6. The constitution, rules and by-laws of the club now in force respecting the admission and expulsion of members and the management and conduct generally of its affairs and concerns, in so far as they are not inconsistent to the laws of this Province, shall be the rules and by-laws of this club; provided, always, that the corporation may, from time to time, alter, repeal or change in whole or in part such irules and by-laws in manner provided, and all such by-laws and amendments shall when approved by the Governor in Council have the force of law until repealed.

7. All property now owned or held in trust for the club is hereby vested in the corporation, 'and shall be applied solely to the purposes of the corporation, and all debts, claims for subscription or contributions of members and other rights accruing to the club under its constitution and by-laws shall be vested in the corporation constituted by this act; and the corpora

The rents, revenues and profits arising out of Rents, etc.. every description of movable or immovable pro- priated. perty belonging to the corporation, shall be appropriated for and employed in the exclusive use of the corporation, the construction and repair of the buildings required for the purposes of the corporation, and the payment of expenses legitimately incurred in carrying out any of the objects relating to the aforesaid purposes.
