NOTICE

Three new features of the Monthly Catalog are being introduced in this issue and will appear in all subsequent issues. The first is a change in the preliminary page structure of the catalog. Expanded information is provided on the GPO Sales program, detailed instructions for the acquisition of publications, and an explanation of the Depository Library Program accompanied by a listing of the Regional Depository Libraries are provided for the benefit of users.

The second is a change in the formatting of the bibliographic entry. The catalog card format is being replaced by a compressed entry in paragraph form. Full bibliographic information will be provided as in the previous format. Care has been exercised to ensure proper spacing between information elements and not to reduce readability. This modification is being made as one effort to minimize the bulkiness of the catalog and to keep costs down. An updated Sample Entry appears in the preliminary pages to reflect the new entry structure.

The final change being introduced is the printing of headers on the pages of the Title Keyword Index. Access to the index will be improved considerably with the addition of the "telephone" headers. Readers are cautioned that when the quotation mark (") appears as the first element in the left hand column on even-numbered pages, the header will reflect the last entry on the previous page.
