July 3 to 7-Healey Regatta on the Thames River, near London, England: Eight oared crew of the Vesper Rowing Club, of Philadelphia, entered for the Grand National Challenge Cup. In the first round, July 4, the American crew beat Christ College crew by one length, in 7:12. In the semi-final round, July 5, Leander R. C. crew beat the Vespers by one length in 7:01. Leander also won in the finals the next day from a Belgian crew by two and a half lengths, in 6:56. There were no American entries for the Diamond Sculls, which were won again by Kelley, who made a new record of 8:10 | in the final heat, August 11 and 12-National Champion ship Regatta, on the Patapsco River, at Baltimore, Md.
