Resolved, That the Paymasters to the several Pennsylvania Reg'ts do pay to each of the Officers and Men their respective wages once p month.

Resolved, That all the Officers and men belonging to Miles' and Atlee's Battalions, who are now in this City or the Suburbs, be paraded before the Lodge, on Monday morning next, that their necessities may be enquired into, and Cloathing delivered out to them.

The Senior Officers of that Corps are to see that this resolve be complied with, and that notice be given to the men & other officers in due time. And no party or detachment of the said Corps is to march from this City to Head Quarters or elsewhere, without orders from this Council.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay James Hall £23 12 6, for 27 Pair Shoes, a 17s. 6.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Capt. Andrew Graff 29 6 9, for Blankets, Shoes and Stockings, of 1st Batt'n Lancaster Militia.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Simon and Levy £377 7 6, for Guns delivered to the following Colonels, to be charged to their accounts, Vizt:

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt, £3 10, in favour of Robert King, for a musket sold Lieu't Col. Murray, of Col. Potter's Reg't, for the use of said Reg't, to be charged to Col. Potter.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Mr. Samuel Morris £4 3, for Oatmeal and Barley, purchased by him for the use of the General Hospital at Bristol, to be charged to. Congress.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Thomas Fitzgerald £1 16, Halling Plank for the Floating Battery.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay John Storer, Steward, of the Penn'a Hospital, £104 15 0, for nursing Sick soldiers in the Hospital, &ca, to be charged to Congress.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Lieu't James Young £22 0 0, for 5 Stand of arms Left at Fort Washington, to be charged to Congress.

Resolved, That John Hubley, Esq'r, be authorized to employ all the Shoemakers amongst the Hessian Prisoners at Lancaster, in making of Shoes for this State, for which purpose the sum of two thousand Pounds shall be advanced to him or his order, for the purchase of leather and other materials for working upon; and he is to pay them a small allowance for their labour, for which Service Mr. Hubley is to have a reasonable compensation.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. Wm. McAleavy £13 19, for Rations due his Company of the 1st Batt'n of Militia of Bedford County, to be charged to Congress.

Capt. Geo. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. John Lee, for subsistance of his Company from Northumberland County, £75 12 4, to be charged to Congress.

Resolved, That John Hubley, Esq'r, be appointed Commissary of the Continental Stores, and of the Stores of this State at Lancaster, with the Rank and pay of a Major, And to have full powers to appoint such Deputies as he may judge necessary.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. Clugage & Capt. Parker £14 19, for travelling Expences for their Companies from Bedford County, to be charged to Congress.

Orders were given to Colonel Morgan to have the 2nd Batt'n of Militia in Berks County, which he is to command, to make all necessary preparations, and to hold themselves in readiness to march on the Shortest notice, and wait until further orders from this Board.

The Council being informed that a number of the Country Militia are returning to their respective homes, disgusted at the precipitate orders they received this day, to march when they were not supplied with provisions, and in want of many other necessaries, which orders were given without the approbation of this Board.

Resolved, That John Hubley, Esq'r, a member of this board, be directed to endeavour to prevail on such of the Militia to return, and to assure them that this Council have, and ever will warmly interest themselves in behalf of their Countrymen, the Militia of this State, And will exert their authority to the utmost to preserve to them the rights of Freemen; and further, that this Council will, as far as possible, furnish such as shall return, with all proper equipments, And by no means consent to their being compelled to join the Continental Army until they are so supplied.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay to Robert Fitzgerald £33 4 10, for work done the Ship Montgomery, and £12 11 6, for work done the Galley Convention.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay James McDonald, Commissary to the Northumberland Militia, £300 8 10, for providing the Militia with provisions, on their march to this City.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Martin Wirt £75 19, being the Ball'e of his acce't, for hire of a Schooner for 77 days, a 30s, and work done by himself and hands at Chevaux de Frize.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay David Robb £7, for 2 Guns and one Blanket, for the use of the 2nd Batt'n of Northumberland county, to be charged to Colonel James Murray.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay the following Person £36 7, to be charged to Col. James Murray of the 2nd Batt'n of Cumberland County, viz:

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Samuel Harris £16 7, for repairs of the arms of the Militia of Northumberland, by order of Major John Harris.

Capt. Bickham to pay Capt. Thomas Paxton £31 8 6, for Ball'e of his acco't of Subsistence of his Comp'y from Bedford County, to be charged to Congress. (N. B. Capt. Paxton left Bills to the amo't of £9 19, at Taverns on the road.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Capt. Sam'l Wilson £23 16, fer pay of his Comp'y of the 5th Batt'n of York Co. Militia.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Major John Rogers £20, for his pay, and Rations for 28 days, (of the 2nd Batt'n of Lancaster county,) to be charged to Congress.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Benjamin Marshall for £200, for the purpose of assistance of the families of poor Militia of Capt. Bowers' Company.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Colonel James Murray 67 Dollars, being advance for a Company of men in Northumberland County.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Lieut. Col. James Murray £25 6 3, for sundry expences attending this Batt'n of Northumberland Co. Militia.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay the officers of the above Batt'n £42, for subsistence money.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. John Clark 148 19, for subsistence money, for his Co. of the North'd Co. Militia.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Emanuel Woodly £13 5 0, for Boat Hire.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Mr. Robert Irvine for £500, for the payment of Waggon hire, to be charged to his account.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt favor of Doctor Harris, for £150, to be charged to his account.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. Alex'r Trindle £27 12, for subsistence of his Co. from Carlisle to this City, to be charged: to Congress

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay John McGinnet £11 5, for carrying stone from Fort Island to the Piers.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Lewis Harrington £10, for 10 pair Shoes.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Capt. Gustavus Resberg for £500, for expences in carrying on the Continental Powder Mill, to be charged to Col. Biddle & Major Jos. Copperthwaite.

Messrs. Mease & Caldwell was directed to pay Col. Fred. Wats £480, for a Ball'e due him for Blankets delivered to Mr. Towers, & Rations, to be charged to Con.

Capt. Geo. Bickham was directed to pay Samuel Goudys, for the subsistence of his Company from Juniata, £60 0 0, to be charged to Congress.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Doctor William Stephens £3 13 9, for Medicine and Attendance of Thos. Smith, Rifleman of Capt. Murray's Co., 2nd Batt'n of Pennsylv'a.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay John Johnson £5 18, for nursing, attendance, and funeral expences of the above Tho's Smith.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay John Scott £9 7 6, for 7 Blankets and a Waggon Cloth for the use of Capt. Wm. Scott's Comp'y of Col. Klotz's Batt'n of the Flying Camp, to be charged to Congress.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Captain Hoofnagle £8 9 10, being cash paid by him to Jacob Dickert for repairing Arms &c., charge to Congress.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Thomas Nevell, for One Hundred pounds, to be charged to his acco't towards Gun Carriages making by him.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Captain William Gray, for Two Hundred Dollars, for recruiting service, to be charged to his acco't.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Mr. Robt. Towers £258 19 6, for making Cartridges, Arms Purchased, &ca.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Thomas Holliday, Ensign of Capt'n. Wm. McAlewy's Comp'y of Bedford Co., £5, being the Ball'ce of a month's pay, to be charged to Congress.

Capt. Bickhan was directed to pay Colonel Henry Geiger £89 46, for charges of apprehending and bringing to Reading Goal the following persons, who are suspected of being Tories, to whose. acco't this sum is to be charged, viz; William Thomas, Philip Mooser, Michael Ohl, Casper Boldof, Michael Buck, Henry Stinninger & Jacob Oswalt.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Nicholas Spring £1 17 6, for Halling Wood.

An order was drawn on Mr. Nesbitt in favour of Col. Henry Geiger, for £75 0 0, for the purpose of purchasing Blankets, &ca.,. for His Battalion, Northampton County, to be charged to his ac

count.

Capt. Bickham was directed to pay Capt. Rider £16, for Exp's of his Comp'y from the 4th until the 11th Inst, to be charged to the Colonel, Henry Geiger.

Mr. Nesbitt was directed to pay Davis Bevan £14 12 6, for Expences going to Lewistown to obtain the release of Prisoners from the Roebuck Man of War.

Resolved, That Messrs. Josiah Hewes & Andrew Tybout & Robert Tucking, be appointed to take care of the Prisoners returned from New York, & to provide them with such necessaries as they may stand in need of, and that they make return to this Council of their names, with the Battalions to which they belong, and also that they do return to Messrs. Mease & Caldwell, such as be long to the Continental Army, and to John Maxwell Nesbitt, Esq'r, such as belong to this State, that they may receive their pay.
